You can rename an existing service category in Appointy without changing the services grouped under it.
This is useful when you want the category name to better match your current offerings or the terminology used by your business.
What is a service category?
A service category is used to group related services together.
For example:
- Massage → Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage
- Consultations → Initial Consultation, Follow-up Consultation
- Classes → Yoga, Pilates, Strength Training
- Lessons → Piano, Guitar, Vocal
Renaming the category changes the category name, not the individual services inside it.

Example: Renaming a category to match your business terminology
Suppose a wellness business originally created a category called:
Therapy
Later, the business decides that Wellness Treatments better reflects the services inside that category.
Instead of creating a new category and moving all the services, the Admin can simply rename:
Therapy → Wellness Treatments
The services already grouped under the category remain there.
