After creating a service in Appointy, you need to assign it to the appropriate staff members and define when those staff members provide that service.
This makes the service available for customer booking based on the staff member’s schedule.
What does service availability mean in Appointy?
Service availability defines:
- Which staff members provide the service
- On which days they provide it
- At what times the service is available
- Whether the availability follows a regular or irregular schedule
A service will only be bookable when it has the required staff assignment and available schedule.

6. The Schedule section will display the staff members added to your account.
7. Find the staff member who provides this service.
8. Click the + icon on the required day to add availability for that staff member.
- Configure the working hours during which that staff member provides the service.
- Repeat the process for other days or additional staff members as required.
Regular vs irregular service availability
Appointy allows you to configure both regular and irregular service schedules.
Regular availability
Use regular availability when the staff member provides the service on a recurring schedule.
For example:
- Monday to Friday
- 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Irregular availability
Use irregular availability when the service is offered on specific dates or on a schedule that differs from the regular pattern.
This is useful for temporary changes, special sessions, or date-specific service availability.
Example: Assigning a massage service to multiple therapists
Suppose a spa offers Deep Tissue Massage.
The spa has three therapists:
- Therapist A provides it Monday to Friday
- Therapist B provides it Tuesday to Saturday
- Therapist C provides it only on weekends
The business can open the Deep Tissue Massage service and configure the Schedule tab separately for each therapist.
This allows the same service to have different availability depending on which staff member is providing it.
Why is my service not showing as available for booking?
If a newly created service is not appearing on the booking page, check that:
- The service is assigned to at least one staff member
- The staff member has availability for that service
- The full service duration fits within the available working hours
- The staff member is Active
- The service is Active
- The service is Public if customers should be able to book it
- There are no existing appointments or blocked periods preventing availability
- Any linked resources are available
For example, if a service lasts 60 minutes but the staff member only has 50 minutes available, Appointy will not show a bookable slot.
Service availability vs staff business hours
These settings are related but serve different purposes.
Staff business hours define when the staff member generally works.
Service availability defines when that specific staff member provides a particular service.
For example, a staff member may work from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, but provide one particular service only from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
