You can update the card used for your Appointy subscription from the Payment section of the Billing Portal.
Use this if your current card has expired, you want to replace it, or you need to make a different card the primary payment method for future subscription renewals.
Quick navigation
Billing Portal → Payment → Add Payment Method → Set as Primary
Step 1: Open the Payment page
Go to:
https://billing.appointy.com/payment
Sign in to your Appointy billing account if prompted.
The Payment page shows the billing account currently used for your subscription.
Step 2: Add a new payment method
Under Primary Billing Account, click:
+ Add Payment Method
Enter the new card details and complete the payment-method setup.
Step 3: Set the new payment method as Primary
After adding the new card, make sure you set it as the Primary payment method.
The card marked Primary is the one Appointy will use for future subscription billing attempts.
Do not leave an expired or old card as the Primary payment method if you want future subscription renewals charged to the new card.
Why setting the card as Primary is important
Adding a new payment method alone may not change which card is used for billing.
You should confirm that the new card is marked:
Primary
This ensures the new payment method is selected for future subscription charges.
What if your subscription renewal has already failed?
If your subscription could not be renewed and your account has already been downgraded to the Free plan, updating the card may not cause an immediate retry.
The payment provider attempts subscription charges at specific intervals. Because of this, there may be a delay before the new card is charged automatically.
In this situation:
- Go to https://billing.appointy.com/payment.
- Add your new payment method.
- Set the new card as Primary.
- Initiate a live chat with the Appointy Support team.
- Share your Appointy username and let the team know that you have updated the payment method.
The Support team can then coordinate with the Accounts team to process the payment and help reactivate your paid subscription.
Because subscription payment retries are attempted by the payment provider at specific intervals, updating the card does not always trigger an immediate charge. Contacting Support helps avoid waiting for the next automatic retry.
If your account is still on the paid plan
If the account has not yet been downgraded, update the payment method and set the new card as Primary.
The billing system will use the primary payment method for the applicable future renewal attempt.
Subscription payment method vs customer payment gateway
These are separate.
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Subscription Payment Method | Pays for your Appointy subscription |
| Customer Payment Gateway | Collects appointment payments from your customers |
Updating your subscription card does not change your Stripe, Square, PayPal, or Authorize.Net setup for customer payments.
