Appointy Premium lets you use a category-specific booking URL on your website so customers can go directly to a particular Service Category instead of starting from the full booking page.
You can use a category-specific URL in two common ways:
- Add it behind a Book Now button or text link
- Use it inside an iframe to embed that category directly on a webpage
This is especially useful when your website already has separate pages for different service groups.
Why use category-specific booking links?
A category-specific booking link helps you create a more focused booking journey.
For example, if your website has separate pages for:
- Hair Services
- Massage
- Skin Treatments
you can use a different category-specific booking URL on each page.
A customer visiting the Massage page can then go directly to the Massage category and choose from the relevant services instead of browsing unrelated offerings.
Before you start
First, copy the booking URL for the category you want to use.
Go to:
Settings → Masters → Categories → Select Category → Copy Category Link
Once you have the category-specific URL, you can add it to your website using either of the methods below.
Option 1: Add the category URL to a Book Now button
If your website already uses a Book Now button, simply replace its existing booking destination with the category-specific URL.
For example:
Button text: Book Hair Services
Button destination: Hair Services category-specific URL
When customers click the button, they will go directly to that category and can choose from the services available within it.
When to use this method
Use a direct category link when:
- Your website already has separate pages for different service groups
- You want a simple booking CTA
- Your website builder lets you assign URLs to buttons
- You do not need to display the booking interface directly inside the webpage
Option 2: Embed the category booking flow using an iframe
If you use Appointy’s iframe integration, you can display a specific Service Category directly on your webpage.
The important point is:
Replace the general booking destination with the category-specific booking URL, but keep the iframe parameters isgadget=1&autoheight=1.
These parameters should remain in the iframe URL.
Standard iframe code
<div class="container">
<iframe
id="appointy-iframe"
class="no-border"
src="https://selecttime.appointy.com/username?isgadget=1&autoheight=1"
scrolling="no"
width="100%"
frameBorder="0">
</iframe>
<script>
(function () {
const ifrm = document.getElementById("appointy-iframe");
window.addEventListener("message", function (e) {
const d = e.data || {};
if (d.type === "height") {
ifrm.style.height = d.data + "px";
}
if (d.type === "scroll") {
ifrm.scrollIntoView();
}
});
})();
</script>
</div>Replace the booking URL with your category-specific URL
In the iframe, locate the src value.
For example:
src="https://selecttime.appointy.com/username?isgadget=1&autoheight=1"Replace the general booking URL with your category-specific booking URL, while keeping:
isgadget=1&autoheight=1in the final iframe URL.
For example, if your category-specific URL already contains a category parameter, the final iframe URL should look like:
src="https://selecttime.appointy.com/username?category=YOUR_CATEGORY_ID&isgadget=1&autoheight=1"Do not remove isgadget=1&autoheight=1.
Why keep isgadget=1&autoheight=1?
These parameters are used with the embedded booking experience.
Keeping them in the iframe URL helps ensure the booking page continues to work correctly inside your website.
The accompanying iframe script also helps:
- Adjust the iframe height based on the booking content
- Reduce unnecessary internal scrolling
- Scroll the booking interface into view when required
If your category URL already contains ?
A category-specific booking URL may already contain query parameters.
In that case, add the iframe parameters using &.
For example:
https://selecttime.appointy.com/username?category=YOUR_CATEGORY_ID&isgadget=1&autoheight=1Do not add a second ?.
Example: Hair Services page
Suppose your website has a dedicated page for Hair Services.
That page may describe:
- Haircut
- Hair Color
- Hair Treatment
- Hair Wash
You have two options.
Use a Book Now button
Add a button such as:
Book Hair Services
and link it to the Hair Services category-specific URL.
Embed the booking flow
Use the iframe on the Hair Services page and replace the general Appointy booking URL with the Hair Services category-specific URL while keeping:
isgadget=1&autoheight=1Customers will then see the relevant category directly from that webpage.
Use different category links on different website pages
You can repeat this approach across your website.
For example:
Hair Services page
→ Hair Services category URL
Massage page
→ Massage category URL
Skin Treatments page
→ Skin Treatments category URL
This lets each page connect customers directly to the services they are already interested in.
Category-specific URL vs service-specific URL
Use a category-specific booking URL when customers should choose from multiple related services.
For example:
Massage
- Swedish Massage
- Deep Tissue Massage
- Sports Massage
Use a service-specific booking URL when you want customers to go directly to one individual service.
For example:
Deep Tissue Massage
