Appointy integrates with multiple payment gateways so customers can make online payments while booking appointments.
Supported payment gateways include:
- Stripe
- Square
- PayPal
- Authorize.Net
You can connect one or more payment gateways depending on how you want to accept payments.
Once a payment gateway is connected, you can configure prepayments for your services, such as full payment, a fixed amount, or a percentage of the service price.
Quick navigation
Marketplace → Apps & Integrations → Payment Gateways → Select Gateway → Connect or Enable
Before you connect a payment gateway
You will need an active account with the payment provider you want to connect.
The payment itself is processed through the connected gateway, while Appointy uses the integration to collect payment as part of the booking flow.
If you connect more than one supported payment gateway, customers can be presented with the available payment options during checkout.

What happens after you connect a payment gateway?
Connecting a gateway makes the payment provider available to Appointy, but you still need to configure how payments should work for your services.
Depending on your setup, you can require:
- Full prepayment
- A fixed prepayment amount
- A percentage of the service price
For example, for a $100 consultation, you could configure:
- Full payment → $100
- Fixed prepayment → $25
- Percentage prepayment → 50% = $50
The amount collected depends on the payment rules configured for the service.
Using multiple payment gateways
You can have more than one supported payment gateway connected.
When multiple gateways are available, customers can choose from the payment options presented during checkout.
For example, a business could connect:
Stripe + PayPal
and allow the customer to choose the preferred available payment method during booking.
Payment gateway vs prepayment setting
These two settings serve different purposes.
Payment Gateway
Determines how the payment is processed.
Examples:
- Stripe
- Square
- PayPal
- Authorize.Net
Prepayment Setting
Determines how much the customer must pay during booking.
Examples:
- Full amount
- Fixed amount
- Percentage
You generally need both configured if you want to collect payment as part of online booking.
Refunds and connected payment gateways
Refund handling depends on the gateway used.
For payments processed through Stripe or Square, supported refunds can be initiated through Appointy.
For PayPal or Authorize.Net, the actual refund needs to be processed through the respective payment gateway, after which the payment record can be updated in Appointy as required.
Cancelling an appointment does not automatically mean that its payment has been refunded.
